Nine new contactless 'wave and pay' parking machines have been introduced in Cambridge

The new machines are on: Gresham Road, Harvey Road, King Street, Ridley Hall Road, Sidgewick Avenue, St Pauls Road, Sun Street and Tenison Road.

There are now three ways which people can pay for on street parking in Cambridge via cash, the RingGo cashless mobile phone parking payment service and now 'wave and pay'.

Cllr Roger Hickford, Cambridgeshire County Council, Chairman of Highways and Community Infrastructure Committee, said: “The new 'wave and pay' machines are just another example of how we are working to make on street parking in Cambridge easier and more attractive for people to visit. We have listened to feedback we have received from local businesses and the public to look at the machines we use as well as looking at what other councils use. As the behaviour of people changes then we will continue to look at how we can adapt our services through new technology to meet their needs.”
