Cale Systems Inc. received an order for 500 machines from the City of Montreal
During spring 2003, Société en commandite Stationnement de Montreal, for the City of Montreal (Canada), invited the worlds manufacturers for the supply of a high performance parking solution to replace their obsolete single space parking meters.
The tender was awarded to Cale Systems Inc, a subsidiary of Cale Access, to work with the City.
“This proves that our strategy towards the Canadian market in the past has been right, and that our investments into a subsidiary in North America will create a strong platform and growth for us in this interesting high-tech market”, says Torkel Härdeman, President of Cale Access.
The city of Montreal already has a large number of old meters installed, which now will be replaced with new Cale MP104 Memo Compact. After a successful street trial of 57 terminals, Cale Systems Inc. received an order for 500 additional terminals to be delivered between November 2004 and May 2005.
“It is obvious, says Pierre Barré, president of Cale Systems Inc., that a contract of this magnitude will continue to strengthen Cale’s position in Canada, but it will also reinforce our position throughout North America.”
The solution chosen is a solar powered MP104 Memo Compact machine. The system operates as a multi-space meter and it accepts credit card payment. All machines also report back to a central com-puter through a GPRS connection.
