Cale Systems Pay and Display Machines fully integrated with the Parcxmart™ Card Standard
Cale Systems and Parcxmart Technology today announced that Cale Systems’ multipurpose ticket machines can now securely accept Parcxmart-compliant smart card transactions for parking payment.
This marks the first time that at pay and display machine has successfully integrated Parcxmart Technologies’ turnkey smart card payment platform.
“By integrating the Parcxmart payment platform into Cale Systems’ machines, we now offer cities another option to help them with their parking payments – one that is unique because it involves local merchants,” said George Levey, President of Cale North America. “The Parcxmart electronic payment standard provides additional payment options and convenience for consumers and cities while taking more cash and coin out of the parking system.”
Both the Cale MP 104 XL and the Cale MP 104 Compact Meter incorporate the Parcxmart standard. The Parcxmart ™ Card solution is linked to Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) networks, retail merchants, and merchant banks on behalf of municipalities and the commuting public. A Parcxmart ™ Card has electronic value loaded through Parcxmart-compliant POS terminals using cash or a debit or credit card processed via existing EFT networks, just as any other over-the-counter purchase using debit or credit is done today. The consumer inserts the Parcxmart Card into a variety of parking meters and multipurpose ticket machines that incorporate Parcxmart Technologies' turnkey smart card payment platform, and pays for parking. All funds management and movement associated with the value of issued cards is managed by a bank. The parking system operator is reimbursed for revenue spent at city parking meters on a predetermined settlement schedule. Access to purchasing and loading value to the Parcxmart ™ Card is through a network of local merchants that benefit from commissions generated by selling and reloading dollar value on the cards.
“It has a taken a very short amount of time to integrate Cale’s machines with Parcxmart’s payment system,” said John Regan, President and CEO of Parcxmart Technologies. “We anticipate that more cities will be interested in the Parcxmart Card because of the integration with Cale, since more and more cities are adding pay and display machines as a vital part of their on-street parking solution for parking payments.”
The Parcxmart Card is now available in New Haven, Connecticut, and San Jose, California.
