Central Parking Announces New South Parking's Contract Extended at George Bush Intercontinental and William Hobby Airports
Central Parking System, Inc. and New South Parking announce that the City of Houston, Texas has extended the agreement to manage and operate the parking and shuttle services at George Bush Intercontinental and William P. Hobby Airport for five years with options to extend for two additional one year periods.
The Houston Airport System (HAS) is one of the largest airport systems in the world, serving nearly 50 million passengers annually. Central Parking operates on-site parking facilities for 23 airports, including seven large hub airports serving Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Detroit, Washington D.C. and Ft. Lauderdale.
New South Parking is committed to providing travelers with unsurpassed customer service. Of particular note, in the extension granted to New South Parking, is its commitment to assist HAS in "going green" by converting its entire fleet of shuttle buses to compressed natural gas. Additionally, New South Parking will coordinate the installation of covered parking at the "Parking Cents" economy lot at IAH and energy efficient lighting in the garage at HOU.
"We are gratified to have earned the confidence of the Houston Airport System to continue as the parking and shuttle services provider," said Stephen W. McCormick, Central Parking's Vice President -- Airport Division. "Since we assumed management of Bush Intercontinental and Hobby Airports in 2000, we have helped increase revenues, implemented new technology and improved operating efficiencies while enhancing customer service. We look forward to providing even higher levels of customer service and operating efficiencies in the future."
