City of White Rock Receives Innovation Idea Award Using Digital Payment Product
Vancouver, BC Digital Payment Technologies Corp. is proud to announce that the City of White Rock, the first municipality to install LUKE parking pay stations manufactured by Digital Payment, recently received an Innovative Idea Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of British Columbia in recognition of the Citys waterfront pay parking technology and practices.

Digital Payment would like to congratulate White Rock on receiving this prestigious award. White Rock has shown great vision in improving its parking operations and we are proud that Digital Payment and LUKE played a role in contributing to the Citys success, said Digital Payment CEO Andrew Scott.
Nominations for the award are submitted by the peers of the GFOA which includes other finance officers from British Columbia municipalities, local government auditors and representatives from the Province. The Innovative Idea Award is to recognize originality/creativity of a program/project that has overall significance to local government.
Judy Forster, Mayor of the City of White Rock, announced the award at a recent White Rock council meeting and said she was proud that the City was a leader in this type of technical innovation that clearly has been successful in addressing the parking issues in White Rock.
Sandra Kurylo, Director of Finance for the City of White Rock, commented, The ability to accept credit cards at all of our pay stations has benefited parking patrons and the online monitoring and reporting features of LUKE have contributed to streamlining processes. The success of the waterfront parking project was also aided by the tremendous support Digital Payment gave us during the implementation process and afterwards.
The City of White Rock installed the first LUKE parking pay station in November 2004. Since that time, hundreds of parking meters and seven older technology dispensers have been replaced with the 36 LUKE pay stations needed to service the 900 parking spaces in White Rocks beachfront area. The LUKE pay stations provide White Rocks beachfront visitors increased payment options and a higher level of service.
In addition to White Rock, the LUKE pay stations are installed with municipalities that include Houston, TX, West Hollywood, CA, White Plains, NY, Chattanooga, TN and Fort Lauderdale, FL.
