Civil Enforcement Awards Now Open for Entries!

The civil enforcement sector makes an important contribution to public life but the drive to improve the sector often remains in the background and uncelebrated.
civilbpa.jpgThe Civil Enforcement Awards aims to change that and bring the deserved recognition to both the sector and those working within it.

The Awards focus on professionalism and industry excellence, particularly where an exemplary level of public service is demonstrated. In each of the Awards the judges will be looking at the long term benefits each entry has brought to both the sector and the public.

There are eleven Awards up for grabs and you can enter as many categories as you like:

Technology Award
Innovation Award
Training Award
Initiative of the Year Public Sector
Initiative of the Year Private Sector
Campaign of the Year
Service to the Community
Team of the Year
Individual of the Year
Environmental Award
Gold Award for Lifetime Achievement or Significant Contribution (sponsored by Philips)

Entries can be made at www.civilenforcementawards.co.uk using the online form or by downloading a PDF version. Each of the awards has their own set of criteria to help guide entrants to what the judges are looking for. These criteria are neither prescriptive or exhaustive; if youve something or somebody you want to enter who doesnt quite match the criteria wed still love to hear from you. Perhaps its that something different that were looking for!

Our judges come from a range of enforcement backgrounds: government, the commercial world and the public sector. The panel of judges is chaired by Lord Lucas of Crudwell and Dingwall, an elected hereditary peer, and ably supported by:

Kelvin Reynolds, Director of Technical Services at the British Parking Association

Nick Bradley, Managing Director of Philips

Paul Assarson, CEO of Euro Parking Collection

Ashley Bijster, UK Sales Director of Imperial Business Systems

Peter Hermitage, Chair of the UK Skills Board for Parking

Barrie Minney, Senior Bailiff for Brighton and Hove City Council and Chair of the Local Authorities Civil Enforcement Forum

Simon Burgess, Editor of CEN

Deadline for the entries is the 31 May 2008, after which the judges will retire to read and examine the entries. A shortlist of nominations for each award will be announced in September 2008.

The culmination of the Awards takes place on the 24 October 2008 with a glittering ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane. Guests will be treated to fantastic entertainment, excellent food and the chance to be recognised as a leader in their field.
