Company's technology used in coin-free parking

Maverick Network Solutions, a Wilmington company, has partnered with ePark Systems, to provide a unique prepaid parking payment system that can reduce costs and increase revenues for municipalities and eliminate the need for consumers to feed coins into a meter.
Mavericks proprietary technology platform fdrives ParkNet+, eParks transaction, payment, and information management system. Data is fed to the ParkNet+ system through an iPark device, an electronic in-vehicle parking pass, about the size of an E-ZPass transponder, that allows consumers to pay for parking by pressing a button.

The ParkNet+ system provides parking management with real-time information and analysis about customer transactions and parking patterns, making it possible for municipalities to make data-based decisions about parking time limits and space needs.

New technologies like the system customized by Maverick along with consumer attitudes have opened the door to the creation of innovative in-vehicle payment devices and services that can provide significantly increased value for both consumers and parking managers, says Hans Hawrysz, CEO, ePark Systems. Making paying for parking simpler and safer is something consumers appreciate, especially since they pay only for time used and dont have to worry about rushing back to their car to feed a meter. Further, customizing our customer service and payment management systems to integrate with those preferred or used by parking management and municipalities assures that the ParkNet+ platform delivers the security, service, and convenience that's critical to our customers operations and to consumers as well.

I am very pleased that ePark was able to use Mavericks payment processing system to support its prepaid parking service, says Jim Shanahan, CEO, Maverick Network Solutions. We purposefully designed a flexible, secure system that effectively would support unique payment applications like this one, where we provide a customized end-to-end payment solution, all the way from the consumer to the parking authority.

Because Mavericks customizable system is designed to drive technological innovation, the features and benefits of the integrated iPark and ParkNet+ system are evolving all the time. People will soon be able to open an iPark account through their municipalitys customized iPark website, where they will be able to add funds to their account online through their personalized iPark dashboard page.

The system is currently livein Tampa, FL, Miami Beach, FL, and Arlington, VA. Expansion into Manchester NH is expected late in third quarter 2009.
