COMPEX GETS COMMENDED AT BPA FINALS

Compex is awarded a Commendation for the coveted Innovation Award at the British Parking Awards 2006
24th March 2006 - Northampton, UK – Compex Development & Marketing Ltd, the leading UK supplier of parking enforcement software and wholly owned subsidiary of VINCI Park, announce they won a commendation at the British Parking Awards 2006.
Compex Development & Marketing Ltd entered their ClinkCE-WIFI™ (wireless) software module for the prestigious Innovation Award at the British Parking Awards 2006 after having experienced great success with customer implementations.
Jeremy Graham-Clare – Sales Manager, Compex Development & Marketing Ltd explains “We are delighted to have our technology recognised for its innovation. The speed of getting the ticket information from the handheld to the back office system is traditionally one of the areas of slow problematic issues for parking offices.”
Compex Development & Marketing Ltd have developed ClinkCE-WIFI™ to address this area. The main objective was to develop a dual database reducing the information passed to the back office system and therefore speed up the synchronisation process. By utilisation of the dual database system only the information which has been added or changed (i.e. entering a new location, issuing a ticket, making an observation etc.) is sent from the handheld to the back office system minimising traditional ‘download’ data transfer times.
Any changes made on the central system (e.g. adding stolen or special vehicle information or issued permits) are also sent to the handheld during the data synchronisation process.
The objective of using WIFI technology allows all the handhelds to connect to an access point and create an individual link to the central processing system, much like a normal computer on a network. Using individual links allows all handhelds which are connected to the same network access point to synchronise their data simultaneously. Therefore synchronising one handheld or one hundred handhelds takes the same amount of time.
The additional benefits of using WIFI technology is the significant reduction in operating cost compared with a typical real-time GPRS system.
Graham-Clare said “Our customers are extremely pleased with the results of using ClinkCE WIFI and receiving the BPA commendation is the icing on the cake!”
