Completion of Car Storage Building at The Port of Southampton
Bourne Parking Ltd has completed the design and construction of a new car storage building at The Port of Southampton, on behalf of Associated British Ports.
The five storey flat deck car storage building provides 2,293 spaces for new cars awaiting export - equivalent to an additional seven and a half acres of storage capacity.

As the building is close to the sea, the building has been designed to be extremely durable, the columns have been painted orange to lift the aesthetic feel of the building and a new tensioned wire crash barrier was used in its construction.
Steve Govier , Managing Director of Bourne Parking comments:
‘The project was very interesting to work on; it is a very innovative and economic form of multi storey building. Designed to save a considerable amount of money and space, these ‘car-car parks' are a great substitute for using acres of land to store the cars. Now a fully operational facility, we predict the car park will store over 100,000 cars a year which are being exported to a host of countries around the world.'
