Contactless Credit Card is the Way Forward Says Sandy

Sandy, 37, who has taken over the R&D and Systems Department of 21 staff at Metric Parking, says the contactless credit card technology is the future for the parking industry.

There is no question it is the way forward, said Sandy whose new appointment at Metric Parking is set to transform the R&D and Systems operation at the Swindon factory.

More and more car parks are moving towards a cashless environment which speeds up the process of parking, said Sandy. People find they can enter and leave a car park much more quickly and the cashless system enhances the revenue of that car park.

We are now waiting for the market as a whole to adopt this user-friendly technology which is definitely the future for this industry.

Sandy had plans of a three month contract with Metric when he joined the company. That three month arrangement has already turned into an 18 year career during which time his experience has moved from production assistant in the workshop to the Test Department, Systems team and more recently heading up R&D.

He has spearheaded the design team responsible for the further design and improvement to the Aura pay and display machine the latest technology from Metric and re-developed the machines software which now has significant benefits in offering greater flexibility for the future.

Another on-going project is Metrics new web-based back office system currently known as ASLAN which has served the parking industry for the last 20 years.

Said Sandy: We have now moved to a modern browser-based solution offering greater flexibility to the market for managed and hosted services in the 21st century.
