Councils get the RingGo confidence

RingGo today becomes the UKs clear number one parking payment system for local authorities with Dover signing up as the 30th council to offer RingGo payment.
Earlier in the week at Parkex, Parking Manager Ian McElwain, announced that Reigate-Banstead would be implementing RingGo and this morning Scarborough confirms their position too. With Dover now coming on board - the first council in Kent to roll out phone parking RingGos reach is expanded coast-to-coast across the whole of England.

The new service allows these Councils to offer debit or credit card payment for parking without a major investment in new technology. According to Dianne Hopper, Parking Services and CCTV Manager for Dover District Council: We are keen to offer as much flexibility and choice as possible to motorists using our car parks. However, changing our machines to accept credit and debit cards, simply wasnt viable. Phone parking offers a more cost-effective way to achieve the same goal and that obviously made it attractive.

As part of our decision and selection process, we tried out the service and contacted other local authorities to get their feedback. With the service working so well in so many local authorities, it gives us great confidence that it will answer all our needs too.

Harry Clarke, Commercial Director for RingGo announced the new roll outs at Parkex, the parking industrys showcase for innovation. The addition of Dover, Reigate-Banstead and Scarborough confirm RingGos position as the UKs number one provider of phone parking to local authorities. Our closest competitor has only half the number of Councils we have, with just 15.
