CRDA’s “The Wave” Parking Facility Receives National and Regional Recognition for Innovative Design

- Atlantic City, US
"The Wave"

The National Parking Association (NPA) recently named, in its first ever Innovation Awards, “The Wave” Mixed-Use Parking Structure as the “Innovative Facility of the Year.” The NPA is a US-based parking association that represents 2,000 members of the $18 billion US parking industry that strives to advance the interests of private and public sector parking leaders and professionals.

In addition, the Mid-Atlantic Real Estate Journal (MAREJ) also recognized “The Wave” as their 5th annual Retail Design competition’s gold award winner in the “Most Unique Mixed-Use” category. MAREJ offers comprehensive coverage of the commercial real estate industry in the New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC area.

Timothy Haahs and Associates, Inc. (TimHaahs) worked closely with the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) to plan and develop a mixed-use parking facility to support the growing parking needs of the area, as well as contribute additional retail space to serve the City’s entertainment district.

The Wave” provides 1,800 parking spaces, 16,000 square feet of ground floor retail, and features a number of unique elements including an LED digital billboard, several sustainable enhancements, an EZ Pass toll tag reader, and more. The integration of this structure into the heart of Atlantic City not only proves valuable in supporting the significant parking needs of the area, but also serves as a complement to the surrounding development by creating an energetic and attractive destination for Atlantic City visitors and residents alike.
