CSI Miami goes High Tech with PVT to Solve Crimes

Vancouver, BC - Photo Violation Technologies Corp. (PVT), a leader in technologically innovative parking meter solutions, is proud to announce that CSI Miami will be featuring the patented PhotoViolationMeter (PVM) on the upcoming episode Free Fall premiering April 10th on CBS.
On the episode, the Photo Violation Solution on-street parking meter and integrated backend software are used by the shows forensic team at CSI Miami. They are able to track the date, time and stall the suspects had parked in at the scene of the crime. The self-enforcing PVM with its digital camera technology also gives the team real-time images of the getaway vehicle the suspects used.
According to Fred Mitschele, President and CEO of Photo Violation Technologies Corp, “We are excited by the opportunity to have the PhotoViolationMeter™ unveiled in the upcoming CSI Miami episode. The company has great expectations for the meter to be adopted around the globe and is anticipating a positive response from the show from both law enforcement and the general public alike.”
The PhotoViolationMeter™ makes parking fair for all users by providing Every Way To Pay™; cell phones, credit, debit, smart and cash (in multiple currencies), and utilizes a wireless internet communication network giving Internet access free to inner-city users. PVT with global suppliers IBM and Cisco provides the installation of its systems locally.
Mr. Mitschele also noted, “Providing user-friendly features such as Every Way To Pay™ along with the photo violation capability will change the way people park.” “By making it easier for people to pay for parking, the number of violations they receive will be reduced, yet increasing revenue for the city over other types of meters through increased user compliance.” He further stated, “The deployment of this type of wireless technology [Cisco Wireless Mesh] is having a major effect in cities such as Fredericton, Canada which has seen businesses moving back to the city centre and has saved the city hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in telephone and Internet fees.”
Some of the user-friendly features of the PVM include:

  • Every Way To Pay™ - The PhotoViolationMeter™ accepts a number of payment options including Coin (Multi-currency), Credit Card, Debit Card, Smart Card and Pay-by-Phone.

  • Credit Card No-Fine Feature™ - By paying with credit card and selecting the No-Fine Feature™, the PhotoViolationMeter™ bills time automatically to the credit card while the vehicle is parked. Once the vehicle pulls away, the meter stops billing the credit card.

  • Grace Period Feature™ gives drivers a grace period (programmed by the city) to pay for expired time at the meter if they are late in returning to their vehicle, without receiving a violation. This allows drivers to pay more instantly if they run over time, thus avoiding violations and generating more revenue for the city.

  • The PVM allows for violations to be paid at the meter at a discounted or the normal rate saving users from the inconvenience of calling or mailing in payments. Users simply swipe their credit card and can go on their way.
