Dayton Airport Chooses Hollaender Interna-Rail System to Showcase the History of Flight Through Art
Hollaenders Interna-Rail railing system was installed at the Dayton International Airports new parking garage. Original artwork created by local Dayton elementary school students was integrated into the handrail system as infill panels.
In one of its most recent projects, Hollaender Manufacturings Interna-Rail railing system was installed inside the Dayton International Airports new multi-level parking garage, located in Dayton, Ohio. What makes the installation unique is the use of original artwork that was created by local Dayton elementary school students and then integrated into the handrail system as infill panels.
Dayton area 3rd and 4th grade students were asked to create artwork that reflects the areas rich aviation heritage. The finished drawings were then transferred onto acrylic infill panels, and installed using Hollaenders 2-piece infill panel clips. The handrail and students artwork are now in place throughout the level areas of the five stair towers inside the multi-level garage. The integration of the artwork creates a bright, creative and very welcoming display for travelers as they journey through the stair towers.
More traditional blue opaque infill panels are installed in the stairways using the same 2-piece clips. The modular design of Hollaenders Interna-Rail allowed the entire system to be easily and quickly installed on-site.
Hollaender railing systems have been installed systems in a wide variety of architectural settings. Some of these can be viewed in their architectural project gallery.
