DESIGNA and AXESS found the Designa-Axess-Group

Independent progress conjoint growth!
For many years DESIGNA has focused on expansion. In addition to expanding its regional presence in the core business of systems for parking area management, DESIGNA has also been working towards entering other sectors of access control. A major step in this direction was achieved with the foundation of the Designa-Axess-Group.
designa_axess.jpgEven though DESIGNA is already represented in 57 countries, worldwide sales and marketing director Tony Whelan is not ready to rest on his laurels just yet: “We see great potential, especially in Asia and America. But there will also be new chances developing in Europe due to the EU’s Eastern Enlargement.” DESIGNA has been able to create a good initial position for this. The Irish-born manager commented that for years DESIGNA had been at the forefront in Poland, Czech Republic, and Croatia and had successfully entered the Slovenian and Hungarian markets in 2003.
While continuously aiming to achieve growth targets in the parking system sector, the aim of entering new sectors has received equal attention. After participating with the swimming pool system developer “companion” in Paderborn, Germany, Michael Gradnitzer, DESIGNA’s managing director, is particularly happy with the recent success concerning this goal. The intensified cooperation with “Axess AG” was first presented at a press conference in Salzburg, Austria at the beginning of January. “Together it is possible for us to enter new sectors more easily and quicker than if we attempted it on our own”, commented Michael Gradnitzer.

Just five years after its foundation, the Salzburg based technology company “Axess AG” has become a market leader in access control systems for the sport and leisure industry. Axess’ CEO Wolfram Kocznar is proud of the recent success, especially about the winning of a tender to reequip the access and cashier systems at Europe’s largest skiing area “Dolomiti Superski” in Italy. 130 million ski lift rides are monitored and managed there each skiing season. In the future, Axess hopes to expand its market share in access control systems for skiing resorts to 70 %. But in addition to the core business of skiing access control, Wolfram Kocznar and his 90 colleagues can also be pleased with good business in other areas. Axess has, for example, installed the access system at the new football stadium in Salzburg and now looks forward to entering new sectors together with its partner DESIGNA.
Public Access – this is how the newly founded Designa-Axess-Group defines its core competence. This also includes the access control of anonymous people and objects.

DESIGNA will focus on the control of vehicles access, Axess on public access. For the parking system customer the new partnership will soon become visible due to a new range of products. Some of which will be presented at the upcoming Intertraffic.
