Dick Pacific awarded $39.2 million car park contract by Hawaii DOT

The award of the design-build contract is for the construction of a third parking garage on the current 250-space, open-air parking lot between the Inter-Island Terminal Garage and the Overseas Parking Garage. A two-lane vehicle and pedestrian bridge will connect to the Inter-Island Terminal Garage at the upper level of the new eight-level, pre-cast concrete HNL Parking Structure. The garage will add 1,800 parking spaces to the current 4,500 at the Honolulu International Airport.

Dick Pacific teamed with design partners RIM Architects, a local architect, and Walker Parking Consultants, and was one of three finalists who submitted design packages for the parking structure. Design work for the new parking structure is expected to start later this month, with construction scheduled to be completed by the end of 2008.
