Digital Payment Technologies Corp. Certified under the Building Blocks Program of Blackboard Inc.
Vancouver, BC Digital Payment Technologies Corp., a leading supplier of revenue management solutions for the global parking industry and Blackboard Inc., a leading provider of enterprise software applications and related services to the education industry, are pleased to announce its Digital Payments Enterprise Management System (EMS) has been certified to process transactions in real-time by communicating with the Blackboard Transaction System.
“We are always interested in providing new ways to leverage our EMS real-time communication capability to provide new features to our customers,” said Rob V. Kragelj, President and C.O.O of Digital Payment. “Integrating with Blackboard delivers on the promise of real-time communication with a very tangible benefit.”
Real-time Blackboard transaction processing means that universities using the Blackboard Transaction System and Intella-Pay or LUKE payment stations from Digital Payment for parking, will have the option of letting students use their campus cards to purchase parking. Like real-time credit card processing, when the student swipes their campus card, the payment station will communicate with the Blackboard server to receive authorization before completing the transaction. The result is more convenience for students, fewer cash transactions with no additional effort and no “bad card” losses.
“This is another example of the benefits of openness and flexibility that has been built into the e-Education Suite,” said Kathy Lowe, Vice President of Corporate Development at Blackboard. “Access to the Building Blocks technology have allowed over 190 companies like Digital Payment offer new capabilities to our clients, extending the value of the Blackboard investment.”
The Blackboard Transaction System is a comprehensive transaction processing system that supports the creation and management of student debit accounts, as well as using student ID cards for both on-campus vendors and off-campus merchants. It can also be used for secure building access and other card-based security applications.
