Duncan Solutions and TNS Lead EMV Adoption for Unattended Payments

Duncan Solutions is working in partnership with Transaction Network Services (NYSE: TNS) to provide Australia’s Local Council operators with new EMV-certified payment acceptance equipment and card present transaction processing for its extensive network of parking meters across the country.

Duncan Solutions, one of the world’s oldest and largest parking equipment providers, is working with TNS and local banks to EMV-certify its latest generation of pay and display and pay by space meters. The Duncan equipment will use EMVCo Certified readers and software, along with the TNS PCI DSS certified Secure Payments Network, for secure and highly available processing and authorization of card payments. Through the upgrade, Duncan’s Local Council operator customers will guarantee their compliance with the upcoming card-scheme deadlines and also reduce the cost of processing by moving from Card Not Present (CNP) transactions to EMV-certified card present transactions.

Trent Loebel, General Manager of Duncan Solutions Asia Pacific, said: “By partnering with TNS we have been able to offer a differentiated, EMV-compliant service. Providing clarity around our customers’ compliance obligations is a key factor that led us to TNS, as well as its relationships with the domestic banks and international card schemes. The TNS EMV processing solution will enable our Council operator customers to reduce their processing costs and continue to refresh their equipment to schedule with certainty around their compliance status. TNS and Duncan will continue to manage and reduce the scope of our customers’ PCI compliance obligations.

“We differentiate our offering on the basis of technology, value and quality so it was vital that our partner for this solution met these key requirements. TNS has seamlessly integrated our solutions and added value by creating a global reach, enabling us to expand our service and continue to offer customers a secure, reliable solution.”

John Banfield, TNS’ General Manager, Asia Pacific, said: “Our EMV solution for unattended payment acceptance equipment is based on our experience in the UK, where EMV was first implemented nearly 10 years ago. We look forward to completing our end-to-end EMV certification with the Australian banks in the coming months. TNS is proud to be chosen by market leader Duncan Solutions, offering reliability and guarantees of compliance for its unattended equipment.”

Founded in 1990, TNS’ global expertise extends to more than 60 countries across Europe, the Americas and the Asia Pacific regions. Through its broader payment solutions offering, TNS now connects over a million merchants and retailers to the world’s leading banks, acquirers and processors, enabling secure, efficient and cost-effective delivery and processing of payments.
