EasyPark accelerates coverage across Europe

Mobile parking app, EasyPark continues to expand its already extensive coverage network across Europe, with numerous new cities recently launching in Italy, Denmark and Finland.

In Italy, a wave of new cities recently adopted the mobile payment technology, among them Gorizia, Cassino, Capua, Putignano, Copertino, Galatina, Castel Gandolfo, San Cesareo, Forte Dei Marmi, Rieti, Ascoli Piceno, Adrano, Sanluri and Piano Di Sorrento. This is in addition to the cities of Savigliano, Saluzzo, Rivarolo Canavese, Castellamonte, Volpiano, Chivasso, and Ciriè, which recently launched in the Piedmont region.

The latest activations mean the app can also be used outside larger existing EasyPark cities, such as Rome, Milan, Turin, Naples, Bologna, Verona and Catania. Country Manager of EasyPark Italy, Giovanni Laudicina, says the recent wave of activations is great news for Italians living in both larger urban hubs as well as their smaller regional counterparts.

“Today we have a strong presence in more than 120 Italian cities. The rapid growth in coverage across the country means motorists commuting between cities now have an even broader area in which they can use EasyPark to find and pay for parking. This is great news for parking operators, as expanded coverage also means greater access to app users travelling from other regions,” he said.

Michele Molino, Deputy Mayor of Forte dei Marmi, believes the app will dramatically change the way residents think about parking.

Our aim was to modernize our parking system to make it easier to use, and at the same time allow drivers to save money, eliminating overpayment as they now are able to pay for the exact amount of time they park,” explained Molino.

With EasyPark already widely available in cities right across Italy, we’re glad to now provide motorists in Forte dei Marmi with the same great service," he said.

An addition to Italy, EasyPark already has extensive coverage across Scandinavia, with recent activations in Kuopio, Finland and Horsens, Denmark further illustrating the popularity of the app in Nordic countries.

EasyPark Group CEO, Johan Birgersson, says it’s an exciting time for the company.

As our influence in the European market continues to grow, so too does our commitment to improving urban accessibility for every area we operate in. I’m extremely proud of what EasyPark has been able to achieve in 2016, the recent city activations are testament to the outstanding service we are providing for motorists and parking operators in countries all over Europe,” he said.

Vision of Win-Win-Win for cities, operators and motorists

EasyPark’s vision is to create more livable cities with Parking Excellence. That means helping motorists quickly find available parking spaces and seamlessly pay for them, while also helping cities channel on-street parking pressure in congested areas towards off-street garages. This not only benefits drivers by saving valuable time; it also helps cities reduce congestion and parking operators to improve their off-street parking space utilization.
