EasyPark recently announced Bernd Reul has joined the company as Country Manager for EasyPark Denmark. With 10 years of experience from TDC and a solid education background, Bernd brings with him extensive experience from both business development, marketing, product development, sales and management.
Reul’s role as country manager will be to continue to grow the business and take care of the introduction of the smart city feature 'Find & Pay' that guides drivers along the most efficient route with the most available parking spaces close to their destination. Bernd has extensive experience in developing, selling and marketing digital solutions Danes - and he is looking forward to putting his skills to use.
"I want to make parking as easy and streamlined as possible for both private drivers, businesses, municipalities and private parking operators. EasyPark has big growth potential, both when it comes to increasing users and getting current users to use EasyPark more often and in new situations. Our upcoming Find & Pay solution is a good example of this," says Reul.
"EasyPark is providing me with the opportunity to achieve great things with colleagues and stakeholders alike, as the company continues to help drive digitization across Europe."
Bernd Reul is a graduate engineer from the Technical University of Denmark and has studied marketing and marketing management at Copenhagen Business School and innovation at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in the United States.
Bernd has in recent years held several management positions in TDC, most recently as Vice President of TDC Business.
Bernd has Danish-German parents and lived up to the teens near Frankfurt, Germany. His parents then moved to Falster, and today he lives with his wife and three children in Ishøj Village.
EasyPark Group say they are delighted with the appointment.
"We’re very excited to welcome Bernd to the EasyPark team. He brings with him a wealth of experience when it comes to utilizing digital technology to make everyday life easier. Bernd is a team player with an involved management style and he is used to working with many stakeholders. His experience from sales, marketing and product development will be a great benefit to us, "says Morten Hother Sørensen, Chief Distribution Officer at EasyPark Group.
Continued growth and new solutions
The Danes are increasingly using their mobile phones when paying for parking, and EasyPark saw a growth of 71% more parking payments in 2016 when compared to the previous year. This growth is due to the constant development of EasyPark’s technology, the best geographical coverage in both Denmark and Europe as well as the company’s focus on the end user.
Bernd Reul's task will be to continue this growth.
"Most people know how frustrating driving around and looking for a free space can be. It's a waste of time and that causes a lot of unnecessary CO 2 emissions. Therefore, I really look forward to launching a new feature in our app that shows drivers a route to their destination, ensuring that they pass along the streets that have the highest probability of available parking spaces, while showing the user how far the walking distance is from the car to the destination. This will make parking easier and less time-consuming,” he added.
