Fast Park in Merida

he parking is located within the premises of the Polytechnic belonging to the municipality of the city. The project allowed to double the existing car park surface by means of a modular deck system. Total capacity of the new parking is 355 car places.

Mérida is the capital of the autonomous community of Extremadura and preserves more important ancient Roman monuments than any other city in Spain, it has been defined "the Spanish Roma" and because of this, the "Archaeological Ensemble of Mérida" is a World Heritage site. One of the main reasons in favor of choosing Fast Park was the compatibility of its foundations system with the presence underground of an archeological site that might be brought to light in the future once the car park is removed and installed.

Actually, the possibility to dismantle the freestanding deck and the fact that foundations are friendly choice. Authorization for the implementation and operation has been granted by Ayuntamiento de Mérida to the Car Parking Management Company Cintra Aparcamientos.

A modular roofing system to the top floor has been pre-engineered and installed to be clad with photovoltaic panels.
