Gatwick Staff Car Parks Achieve Safer Car Parks Award

BAA Gatwick achieves the safer parking award for its staff car parks for the fourth year running. VINCI Park Services UK Ltd, who operates the staff car parks, accepted the awards from Chief Superintendent Phil Clarke of Sussex Police.
vincipark.gif“We are proud to have delivered our promised commitments to BAA and have, I believe, established a dedicated partnership which is good news for our customers and one which I am sure will deliver further enhancements in the future” said Sue Taylor, Chief Executive Officer, VINCI Park.

To be successful, each car park operator has to demonstrate a combination of active management procedures and preventative security measure such as CCTV, lighting, surveillance and patrols. The aim of the initiative is to encourage those responsible for car parks to improve security standards as a means of reducing crime.

Gatwick Airport’s staff car parks have received this award for the fourth year running.
Chief Superintendent Phil Clarke of Sussex Police said, “ Thousands of staff need to park their vehicles at the Airport and they need to know their vehicles are safe and secure. The security of Gatwicks car parks is an important factor in the prevention of terrorism and crime. Im delighted that VINCI Park Services have had their commitment to car park security recognised with the award which now brings all the major car parks at Gatwick under the same banner of this much sought after accolade.”

Rachel Kerridge, BAA Gatwick’s stakeholder communications manager said, “ We’re delighted that once again Gatwick’s staff car parks have been recognised as being safe and secure areas. We work hard with all the car parking management companies on airport to ensure all our car parks operations are as safe and secure as possible. We’d like to thank VINCI Park for all their hard work over the year in securing this very important award.”
