The message is simple and far-reaching: All the companies and brands gathered under the umbrella of the Hoeft & Wessel Group now have the single name of METRIC.
To mark the departure into a successful future with a visible symbol, the Annual General Meeting of Hoeft & Wessel Aktiengesellschaft held on
21/05/2015 resolved to give the company a new name: METRIC mobility solutions AG.
By adopting the METRIC brand the company is giving a clear and uniform indication of the success-oriented re-alignment of the Group. The UK
subsidiary Metric Group Ltd. served as namesake. The general corporate structure, with the corporate HQ located in Hanover (Germany) and the structure encompassing the three business divisions
- Public Transport,
- Retail & Logistics and
- Parking Systems,
As part of the name change and to ensure a uniform brand presentation, a new logo has been introduced. Its visually striking design serves as both a copyrighted company logo and trademark, as well as as a distinctive symbol for the innovative power and the re-positioning of the company.
With the introduction of the new logo, METRIC assumes the function of a so-called core and umbrella brand. "This means that METRIC will literally be the measure of all things in terms of our company's entire branding: from the company name and the core brand via the solution portfolio right through to the type designations" says Thomas Dibbern, the company's CEO.
Previous divisional brands like ALMEX, skeye and the existing Metric Parking product family will gradually be integrated into the new brandingnscheme. This consistency in branding across all levels will ensure clearly defined structures and communications.
The name change and the creation of a unified brand for the group of companies are the result of careful thought and diligent planning. "We look back on our long and eventful corporate history since 1978 with pride. It goes without saying that we will continue to be committed to our company's core competencies as they have cultivated over the decades," says Thomas Dibbern and adds: "As times change, a strategic re-positioning of the company becomes a necessity. This re-positioning of the company is being expressed for all to see in this re-branding."
The company operates under the METRIC brand with immediate effect. Formally, the Hoeft & Wessel Aktiengesellschaft continues to exist for several days until the registration of the new company name is carried out in the commercial register.
