Impark Provides Free Parking to Veterans in London, Ontario

Imperial Parking Canada Corporation (Impark), one of North Americas leading parking operators announced today a trial program that provides Canadian military veterans with free parking at selected locations in London, Ontario.
Under the terms of the program, which originated from a 2006 Remembrance Day pilot in Vancouver, British Columbia, vehicles displaying Ontario veteran license plates will be permitted to park for free on eligible parking lots. The program applies to all Impark surface lots in London that use pay-and-display parking meters. ICORR Properties International, a major London property owner, was eager to support Imparks initiative and included in the program its London surface parking facilities managed by Impark. Targeted at occasional-use hourly and daily parking patrons, the program is not a replacement for a monthly parking rental. Special event parking is also exempted from the trial.

We are very grateful for the sacrifices these men and women made on our behalf, stated Herb W. Anderson Jr., Vice Chairman and CEO of Impark. Now when a veteran has an appointment, wishes to shop, dine or simply enjoy what downtown London has to offer, he or she can park their car on an Impark surface lot free of charge. Its Imparks way of expressing to military veterans our pride and appreciation for their service to our country.

The trial period was put into effect on May 11th, 2007 and will continue throughout the remainder of 2007 to allow Impark to gauge the popularity of the program.
