Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Chooses INDECT’s Advanced UPSOLUT Multifunction Parking Guidance System

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has chosen INDECT as the preferred parking guidance system as part of its $6 billion expansion and modernization plan.

The airport’s building and renovation program, referred to as ALTNext, is part of a 20-year plan that aims to maintain Hartsfield-Jackson as the nation’s leading airport by updating existing facilities and adding new structures with state-of-the-art technologies to enhance the travel experience.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is the world’s undisputed busiest airport with a total of 883,680 aircraft takeoffs and landings in 2017. The bold expansion plan will allow the airport to easily accommodate anticipated growth as those numbers continue to climb.

“We are excited to be part of such a large-scale and visionary project,” said Dale Fowler, President of INDECT USA. “I think our proven expertise in designing airport parking guidance systems as well as our reputation for quality products and local support helped us stand out from our competitors.”

One of the unique features of the Hartsfield-Jackson installation will be the introduction of our new outdoor camera system (ODE), which will be installed on the rooftop of the West Deck Garage in early 2020,” said Fowler.

The ODE has the ability to zoom in and capture high-definition images of vehicle license plates in natural light, ensuring that LPR software is able to work throughout the entire parking garage not just in undercover areas.  This feature is unique to INDECT.” he said.

INDECT’s camera-based parking guidance system is fast becoming the system of choice for airports not only across the United States but also the world, with installations in Dallas Fort-Worth International Airport, Dallas Love Field Airport, Houston Airport (active), San Diego International Airport, Vienna International Airport (Austria), Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport (Lebanon), and Sydney Airport (Australia).

INDECT differs from other camera-based systems on the market because it is fully automated in real time and doesn’t require human intervention for accuracy. The inbuilt sensor automatically detects occupied/unoccupied spaces through proprietary software and cannot be overridden manually. It is also the only IP67 compliant sensor on the market, meaning it will continue to function even if totally immersed in water and is completely dustproof.
