Innovative new parking reservation system for Dublin Airport

Parking at Dublin Airport has just become easier thanks to an innovative new online reservation system developed by ParkMagic, the Irish mobile payment and wireless technology company in association with Paxton Access, developers of the Net2 access control system.
www.quickpark.ie is a new online reservation system developed and powered by ParkMagic for QuickPark, Customers logging on to www.quickpark.ie can now reserve their car parking in advance which means time wasted queuing to park is now a thing of the past.

Like all clever ideas, the system is simple and easy to use. Passengers logging on to the website enter the date, time of arrival and duration of their stay and can then check the availability of car parking spaces. A space can be reserved in advance with payment by credit or debit card. ParkMagic will also be offering its existing customers the facility to use their ParkMagic account to pay. A pin code is provided to the car owner which is entered into a Net2 keypad on arrival at QuickPark where a space will have been pre-allocated.

A significant advantage to the business traveller is that they do not need to have the actual credit card which was used for the booking with them to access the car park, the pin code is all that is required for access.

John OSullivan, Managing Director of QuickPark said, Air travel has become much more stressful for both the business and leisure traveller and often, time is of the essence for passengers arriving at Dublin Airport. We wanted a system which would reduce this stress and would provide an improved service for our customers. You can book your seat on the airplane in advance, check-in in advance and even book your luggage in advance so why not your car parking space? ParkMagic worked closely with us to develop an easy to use, secure system which not only allows the car owner to quickly park their car on arrival at the airport but which also means no more queuing at the machines to pay for your parking when you return from your travels.

Paul Fitzgerald, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of ParkMagic said, www.quickpark.ie is an example of how ParkMagic is continuously developing new applications for our technology which deliver convenience and value added services to car owners. We are aiming to capture 30% of the parking market at Dublin Airport with this new service, which is a further evolution of our recently launched number recognition payment system, removing the need for cash payment in any barrier controlled car park. This new technology is generating a lot of interest among car park operators in Ireland and we are seeing significant interest in the system with UK and US operators.

About ParkMagic:

parkmagic.jpgParkMagic was founded in Limerick in 2005 by Philip Hayes and Paul Fitzgerald. The company opened its US office in 2006 and a UK office earlier this year. ParkMagic offers a range of integrated payment services and parking system solutions for public and private parking operators. Solutions cover both on street and off street operations and seamlessly interoperate with each other, serving customers throughout Ireland and most recently, in the United States.

Its Mobile Parking Service (MPS) is the worlds first in-car parking permit display system controlled using a mobile phone. When the driver pulls into a parking spot on the street, they dial one number from their mobile phone and within seconds the in-car display unit indicates that parking has been paid.

ParkMagic services are fully managed and use the latest in proven parking technologies for the motorist and an easy to manage, revenue efficient, solution for parking operators. The design philosophy behind ParkMagic services revolves around simplicity, convenience of use and cost effectiveness.
