International Expansion and Increased Web Site Revenue Attributed to Payless Car Rental's Fiscal 2004 Growth
Payless Car Rental System, Inc. wrapped up the 2004 fiscal year on June 30 recapping achievements attributing to the company's explosive growth.
Cooperative agreements with international Sixt Rent A Car, a leading European car rental provider, and Australian-based Network Car and Truck Rentals launched the expansion efforts. The partnerships increased company presence from 15 to 62 countries with over 1,800 locations providing a fleet of 115,000 vehicles.
"In fiscal 2004, we built the foundation to drive more revenue through www.PaylessCarRental.com. We dramatically improved our SEO and SEM efforts, created more value for our customers in anticipation of the customer always finding the lowest rate on the site. Efforts were rewarded with an average of 11 millions hits per month, and a
31 percent increase in Web site revenues - our number two referral source," said Michael J. Harley, president and chief operating officer, Payless Car Rental System. "Eighty percent of our business is now generated via the Internet."
Additional 2004 highlights include:
-- Accelerated growth in the United States with 13 new franchise locations servicing major international airports and local markets.
-- Acquisition of a third corporate store in Atlanta, Ga. adding to the existing stores in Tampa and Orlando, Fla.
-- Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan Partners.
-- A master license agreement with Rodolease for the rights to develop car rental locations throughout Greece.
-- International expansion with seven franchise locations opening in Mexico, Panama, Argentina and Greece.
