InterPark Promotes Green Travel With Increased Access to Car Charging Stations
Downtown Chicago Facilities Include Chargers to Meet Growing Demand of Environmentally Sound Vehicles
The world is going green, and companies like InterPark are leading the charge with facilities designed to make it easier for commuters to pick environmentally friendly options. The company has boosted efforts to provide car-charging stations at its downtown facilities.
"So many people would go green if they could, but their options can be limited. We're happy to provide commuters with facilities specially designed to foster green options," said Marshall Peck, president of InterPark. "As always, InterPark aims to be a leader in environmentally-friendly initiatives."
Each of InterPark's 12 participating garages in Chicago is equipped with two electric chargers. As auto companies increasingly focus on electrically powered vehicles and hybrids, InterPark is ready to meet the growing need for charging stations.
In recent years, the City of Chicago has spearheaded campaigns to encourage green building. InterPark has responded with features at its parking structures such as energy-efficient lighting and parking for motorcycles, scooters and bicycles. A recent sweepstakes campaign sponsored by InterPark even offered a two-year lease on a new 2010 Tesla Roadster, with the goal of encouraging lower-emission transportation.
"We believe that energy-efficient travel is the future," Peck said. "We plan to do our part by providing parking services adapted to meet growing needs. As driver
