The International Parking Institute, based in Fredericksburg, Virginia since 1982, will relocate its offices to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in January.
"We're excited about this move," said IPI President David Ivey. "Fort Lauderdale is a vibrant city surrounded by a large number of IPI members. Its location and easy access will allow us to conduct numerous member activities and the metropolitan area provides services IPI needs as it continues to grow." Ivey noted that International Parking Conferences in 2005, 2009, and 2013 will be held in Fort Lauderdale. The 2000 conference was also held there. Plans to move the headquarters have been under consideration for almost three years. A special committee, staff members and Directors reviewed more than a dozen cities before agreeing unanimously on Fort Lauderdale. Ivey said the headquarters would be located at 450 Las Olas Centre, in the heart of the city's financial and business district, adjacent to the popular Las Olas entertainment area.
