Kyiv to start construction of seven multi-level parking lots in 2011

Municipal enterprise Kyivparktransservice is intending in 2011 to start the construction of seven multi-level parking lots for 3,000 cars each, the press service of Kyiv City State Administration has reported.

The parking lots will be located at the following addresses: 25 Khreschatyk Street; 31-59 Akademika Hlushkova Street; 23 Akademika Palladina Avenue; the crossing of Sviatoshynska Street and Peremohy Avenue; 84A Peremohy Avenue; 34B Pushkinska Street, and Brovarsky Avenue (the Lisova subway station).

The administration also plans to construct parking lots at the approaches to the city that will allow drivers living outside Kyiv to leave their cars and get to the work by public transport.

"This will help significantly release the Kyiv transport infrastructure and partly solve the problem of traffic jams," reads a press release.

In particular, it is planned to construct such parking lots near the following subway stations: the Chervony Khutir station, the Syrets station, the Hydropark station, the Vydubychi station, the Heroiv Dnipra station, and Velyka Okruzhna Street-Lesia Kurbasa Street (the end stop of high-speed tram No. 3).
