Lincoln completes Aura installation

Lincoln City Council has just completed the installation of 55 Metric Aura pay and display parking machines in city centre car parks.
Metric won a tender for the machines which are networked through their web based ASLAN Back Office system that the Council will host.

City Services Manager Rod Williamson said the Auras which all have a chip and pin payment facility are located in Broadgate and Thornbridge multi-storey car parks and Lucy Tower, Motherby Lane, Flaxengate, Westgate, St. Pauls Lane, Langworthgate, The Lawn, King Street, Chaplin Street, Tentercroft, Rosemary Lane, City Hall, County Council and College surface car parks providing 2,500 car parking spaces.

The new machines provide car park users with a range of cash and cashless credit/debit card payment options. The pricing strategy has been divided between the shopper, commuter, visitor and weekend tariff.

He said the Aura was chosen from a procurement point of view and Metrics tender had come out on top because their submission met the specification and was graded the most competitive.

We have a long-standing arrangement and a very good working relationship with Metric going back approximately 15 years, Mr. Williamson added.

Under the tender agreement Metric has supplied 56 Auras, one having been held for training purposes.
