LogicaCMG to deliver Dutch tolling back office
Road pricing and mobility transaction processing system as pilot for other European implementations.
LogicaCMG, a major international force in IT and business services, today announced it has been chosen to provide a back office solution to Movenience, which offers integrated travel and toll services to motorists in the Netherlands. Movenience enables motorists to drive on toll roads, fill up with fuel, park and access motoring services without needing any cash and in many cases, without even having to leave their car.
As part of the contract, LogicaCMG will develop, test and maintain a road-pricing and mobility transaction processing system for the Westerschelde tunnel in the south-western Dutch province of Zeeland. The project started in October 2007 and will go live in August 2008, with maintenance services to follow until at least 2012.
Based on the Microsoft Dynamics platform, the solution enables Movenience to deliver a wide range of services, to begin with road pricing and parking service and, to be followed by access control and fuel payment. These services are delivered via an on-board unit (OBU) in the motorists vehicle.
