London Borough of Lewisham Signs Up for RingGo
After recent discussions, Cobalt Telephone Technologies, creators of RingGo, have announced at Parkex 2007 an agreement to roll out mobile phone parking to the London Borough of Lewisham. This adds a further London borough to recent RingGo wins in Southwark and Ealing.
Phase One of this roll out will cover a third of the borough, including Blackheath and Lewisham Town Centre. Councillor Heidi Alexander, Deputy Mayor, comments, "Lewisham is committed to delivering customer friendly parking services and have carefully reviewed the latest technology. The RingGo system is being rolled out nationwide and provides a convenient alternative means of payment for our residents and visitors.
"I'm especially pleased that the service we're offering is completely compatible with that being implemented by neighbouring Southwark. We'll be offering the same phone number and the same system - that's local government working together!"
Harry Clarke, Commercial Director of Cobalt, adds, "We have developed a good relationship with Lewisham as a result of previous successful initiatives. Lewisham wants to move very quickly and we're happy to deliver. Motorists will be using the system by late May. It's rewarding that we finally shook hands on the agreement at Parkex / Traffex - that's what these events are for!"
