MACHINES GO ‘LIVE’ ON TIME TO MEET THE FIRST HOUR’S PARKING

A deadline for the ‘switch on’ of pay and display parking in the three towns of Staffordshire Moorlands has been met to the hour by Metric Parking.

Metric machines have been operating in Leek for some time, but these are now networked to the new S2’s which have been installed in Biddulph and Cheadle.

The latest installation has involved a total of 11 machines – seven of which have dedicated help points.

At the same time, Staffordshire Moorlands has reduced the charging hours which previously operated in Leek and has brought all three towns onto a single tariff.

The operating hours in Leek were previously 8.00 am to 6.00 pm. The new hours, which apply in all three towns, are 9.30 am to 3.30 pm.

The standardised charges are now 30p an hour (40p), 50p two hours (50p). 70p three hours (60p) and L1 (70p ) for the new six hours of regulated parking.

Said Richard Boultbee, Metric’s sales representative for the Staffordshire Moorlands area: “We met the deadline for delivery, civil works and installation and all networked machines are now live”.
