Manningtree Station Official Opening

The 2.1m extension to the car park at National Express East Anglias Manningtree station was officially opened on Friday 26 June by Bernard Jenkin MP for North Essex.
The newly-constructed extension has provided a new deck to the existing car park and 150 extra parking spaces at this busy station. Construction work began last autumn and was carried out in two phases to minimise the inconvenience to customers while the works took place. The project was completed 2 weeks ahead of programme and within budget.

Financed in conjunction with Network Rail, construction work was carried out by Bourne Parking, a company with considerable experience of such projects including construction of the modern car park at Ipswich station.

Andrew Goodrum, Customer Service Director, National Express East Anglia commented: "The project to invest in significantly improved car parking facilities at Manningtree, has gone extremely well and meets one of our key franchise commitments to increase the number of parking spaces at this busy station. I am grateful to our partners Network Rail, Bourne Parking and local stakeholders including Tendring District Council for their support on the development of the scheme, and for the co-operation of our customers during the construction.

About Bourne Parking

Since 1973, we've designed and built car parks to a philosophy. We believe a balance must exist between form, function and cost effectiveness. Where a car park design performs against all three, it receives our seal of approval. It's a philosophy that has served us well. We've built everything from modest single deck to 1500 capacity multi-storey car parks. As a result, we've a portfolio of projects without equal in the industry.
We offer a 360-degree service that includes advisory, design, manufacture, delivery and construction. It's a unique knowledge base that places us not just at the forefront of this specialist industry but challenging and shaping it. Traditionally, car parks were built to fit site requirements. But on many new build developments, we can plan a site around existing car park profiles. Customers can choose between our pioneering designs to select a car park solution that optimises the use of their site. It's a method of build that can save construction time and costs.

We're also prepared to develop and perfect our customers' own designs, providing innovation and added value, which invariably exceeds their aspirations.

Whatever the form of construction, one element remains constant: the quality of our people. Designers and engineers, planners and project teams combine to use innovative techniques and prefabricated modular technologies to produce revolutionary car park solutions. It's an aptitude that sees our people take responsibility for every aspect of every car park we've built from CAD drawing to long into the future.
