METRIC INCS NEW PRESIDENT TRAVELS TO TWO MAJOR US EVENTS
A man who has been influential in growing the concept of pay and display parking in major US cities has been appointed as the new president of Metric Group Inc.
Dave Witts, 47, who will manage Metric Incs facilities in Cranbury, New Jersey, is set to travel to two major exhibitions in the States in the coming weeks.
He will be attending Intertraffic, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he will be on the Metric Inc stand (booth 1218) from October 9-12 which will be followed by the National Parking Associations 56th annual convention and exposition (booth 105), Los Angeles, California, from October 22-25.
At both these major events he will spearhead a new Metric Inc drive to add further distribution channels across the US and Canada.
My biggest objective is to grow the Metric product acceptance across the country so that we become one of the key players for pay and display parking machines, said Dave who has 13 years experience in the parking industry.
I shall be at Intertraffic and the NPA event to meet potential distributors and interest them in the Metric product so that we have a distributorship presence in key regions of the States.
It is also my objective to grow Metric Inc internally with additions to our existing team - based in Cranbury, New Jersey - to meet the expected demand of the North American market.
Dave, who has a BA in Management from St. Marys College, California, spent 13 years with Schlumberger/Parkeons parking division in senior positions including business development, sales and marketing and client support.
He was influential in growing the acceptance and implementation of pay and display in major cities in the US and is now determined to carry that forward with Metric Inc.
I am familiar with Metric because I spent a lot of time in Europe and England and got to know Metrics equipment which is very good. I now want to see more of it in the US, said Dave.
Pay and display is now an accepted parking medium in US cities and Metric Inc is in a position to compete with other suppliers of this equipment and build on the success Metric has enjoyed for many years in Europe and other countries throughout the world, he added.
He is married to Deborah and the couple have one son Jason, 17.
