Metric win turnkey tender

Metric Parking has won a tender against strong competition to supply Bassetlaw District Council, Nottinghamshire, with a complete turnkey project.
As part of the tender process, Metric has removed 26 aging Autoslot pay and display machines from 16 car parks in Worksop and Retford and replaced them with the new mains powered Aura.

The Councils Head of Community Prosperity David Armiger said the reason for the turnkey requirement in the tender was convenience and Metrics bid was the most cost effective.

Bassetlaw District Council will shortly network the 25 commissioned Auras to their ASLAN Back Office system.

Said the Councils Town Centre Manager Russell Slater: One of the benefits of the ASLAN Back Office system will be to provide a range of performance management information.

A good example of having this information will be in the event of a dispute either over a machine working or a valid ticket.

We recently had a case where an irrefutable log would have been beneficial.

He said although the Autoslots some 20 years old had served the district well over the years, the time had come to upgrade and install more reliable machines for the future.
