METRICS MACHINES MEET WINDSORS PARKING NEEDS

Mr. Paul Smith, who is responsible for all on street parking in the town, said the system had received a very wide majority of support with streets in the central area of Windsor now offering parking times from half an hour up to two hours.

"Windsor is self-contained and easy to manage", said Paul who added that revenue since the on street parking scheme was introduced was on target to meet the Royal Borough’s anticipated budget.

"We shall possibly see more on street parking in the future", he said. "There are also opportunities for the scheme to be developed in Maidenhead.

"Council members made a commitment to sort out parking for the residents in central Windsor. There is an overall desire to generally control on street parking and create more revenue to pay for enforcement which wasn’t the case in the past".

Windsor also has 80 off street parking machines supplied by Metric.
