Milton Keynes Trials Verrus Service

The latest addition to the Verrus portfolio is Milton Keynes. The council will conduct an 18 month trial of the service in their central shopping area.

Following a competitive tender process Milton Keynes Council has awarded an 18 month contract to Verrus UK Ltd for the trial of their mobile phone payment system in their central shopping area.

Comprising some 3800 spaces which are technically defined as on street, the trial will offer an alternative payment method to pay and display in Milton Keynes premium rate short stay bays as well as in several areas of long stay parking.

Robert Goodman, Centre Director for the centre:mk said we welcome this new service which will allow visitors to top up their parking payments from wherever they are without the need to rush back to their vehicle. Any initiative which helps promote Central Milton Keynes as a regional shopping & leisure destination, such as Pay by Phone, will be invaluable in retaining and attracting new visitors.

Cllr Douglas McCall, Cabinet member with responsibility for Transport, said many residents, workers and visitors to Central Milton Keynes will benefit from this new service and it will lower the risk of them getting a parking ticket.
