MobileNOW!, a global technology innovator with the world’s most flexible mobile payment solution for parking, is launching mobile payment in College Park, Maryland starting with two major surface lots and a large garage.
Located in Prince George’s County just seven miles northeast of Washington, D.C., College Park is best known as home to the University of Maryland - College Park, and home of the Archives II facility of the US National Archives.
“College Park is a beautiful energetic community with a great deal to offer, including the latest technology in parking and transportation,” said John Oglesby, MobileNOW! President and CEO. “It’s no wonder why the city has been named ‘A Smart Place to Live’.”
Residents, commuters and off-campus parkers may pay for parking using the free MobileNOW! app, or by calling a local phone number using the MobileNOW! IVR system. In real time, parkers may manage their sessions remotely from anywhere, without the hassle of returning to their vehicles.
“The City of College Park is proud to offer MobileNOW! to our customers in selected areas of the downtown core of our city as yet another payment option to metered parking,” said Jim Miller, Parking Enforcement Manager, City of College Park. “MobileNOW! has long been used in neighboring cities and counties around both College Park and Montgomery County, Maryland, and are highly regarded in the ‘Pay By Cell’ industry. The City of College Park looks forward to a long-term relationship with MobileNOW!, in hopes of moving our technology forward.”
MobileNOW! has integrated with the city’s Metric multi-space meters for streamlined real-time enforcement.
Oglesby added, “We are excited to expand our footprint in Maryland. We are confident the College Park community and UMD will love the convenience of parking by MobileNOW!, just like their neighbors in Montgomery County.”
Recently, MobileNOW! also expanded mobile payment into Montgomery County’s Friendship Heights.
