MobileNOW! Expands Mobile Payments in Downtown Athens, GA

MobileNOW!, a global technology innovator and world’s first mobile payment solution for parking, has expanded mobile payment options in downtown Athens, Georgia to further parking convenience for residents and visitors.

Home of the University of Georgia, Georgia’s oldest and second largest college, Athens is known as a college town and hosts a number of small-to-large events.

The city’s initiative to boost convenience downtown and the rise in mobile payment adoption has led to approximately 700 parking spaces that accept mobile payments. Parkers can pay using their mobile phone by downloading the free MobileNOW! app or calling a toll-free number.

"The Downtown Athens Parking System is pleased to offer MobileNOW!'s real-time payment options to our customers. This innovation has increased timely payments, and reduced the number of tickets issued to our parking clientele," said Athens Downtown Development Director Pamela Thompson.

Through the MobileNOW! app, parkers may extend their parking session remotely in real time, which encourages compliance for paid parking while eliminating potential costly citations for the customer.
