MobileNOW! Expands Mobile Payment Implementation to Multi-space Parking Meters in Elizabeth, New Jersey's Midtown District

MobileNOW!, a global parking technology innovator and world’s first provider of mobile payment solutions in parking, is rolling out an expansion that more than doubles the availability of mobile payments and remote parking session management in Elizabeth, the fourth largest city in New Jersey.

“This new, easy-to-use application is a convenient way for our residents and guests to pay for the parking meters along our city streets and be alerted when their time is running out,” said Mayor J. Christian Bollwage. “Whether they are in a restaurant or shopping in one of our busy business districts, they no longer have to worry about leaving to extend their parking session; they can do so right from their phones.”

The project first launched with MobileNOW! pay by app and pay by phone solutions for approximately 350 single-space meters and has expanded to an additional more than 400 multi-space meters in the Midtown district. Future expansion will include all remaining multi-space meters, both on- and off-street, as well as single space coin operated meters.

The historic city of Elizabeth has approximately 125,000 residents and many attractions, including the largest mall and movie theater on the east coast as well as the nation’s largest industrial seaport. The NJ Transit provides easy access for commuters to New York City.

The initial phase introducing mobile payments for downtown parking was in a predominantly Colombian area. MobileNOW! supplied dual language literature to allow easy adoption for Spanish-speaking residents.
