Modern car parking at Nuremberg Hospital

MSR-Traffic equips the multi-storey car park at Nuremberg Hospital with 800 ultrasonic sensors and control software.

Nuremberg Hospital advertises itself as a maximum-care hospital with its slogan Everything under one roof. With over 6,000 employees and around 2,370 beds, the hospital cares for 100,000 inpatients and almost 90,000 outpatients per year. The volume of traffic and the parking requirements around the hospital are accordingly high. In order to meet these requirements the new multi-storey car park has been equipped with a car-park routing system from MSR-Traffic.

With around 800 ultrasonic sensors, various displays on each level and web-based software for live evaluations, MSR-Traffic not only ensures that arriving car drivers are guided quickly and purposefully to the next free parking space. The hospital administration can now check occupation rates at any given time just as accurately and determine whether additional actions are necessary.

Since the top level has no roof, the sensors here have a special housing to protect them permanently against environmental influences such as rain or the sun.
