The city of Schwäbisch Hall with around 40,000 residents is located in the northeast of Baden-Württemberg. The most well -known company of the district - among many other large local companies - is Bausparkasse, a building society, which even bears the name of the city.
It wasn’t easy for the city officials to find a suitable partner for implementing the parking space monitoring of the latest building project "Weilerwiese" - after all, a parking guidance system was required with sensors for indoor and outdoor areas. Finally the city counted on the experience and expertise of MSR-Traffic, as many other cities did before.
Innovative sensor technology for indoor and outdoor use
The underground garage will receive a single space detection system with ultrasonic sensors incl. status LED per parking space and an additional pre-counter per lane. Moreover, dynamic LED displays indoors will improve orientation and facilitate finding a free parking space.
The outdoor parking spaces one level above will be equipped with wireless magnetic sensors, reducing the installation work to a minimum and saving the customer a lot of money. The integrated battery lasts - thanks to innovative, economical technology - up to 10 years. The advanced sensor technology is particularly suitable for outdoor use, because it is constantly reliable regardless of the weather and even of different lighting conditions (for example, sun, fog, sleet, etc.).
Already when approaching the new building project, dynamic pre-signposts in the city show the number of available parking spaces in real time. The communication with the host computer is wireless and works within a few seconds. Linking the data to existing displays in the urban area is possible as well.

The complete parking management system is not only delivered by MSR-Traffic, but also mounted on site, wired and commissioned. Thus, the customer profits from a turnkey system from a single source.
The system and the individual components can be easily operated from anywhere with PC, tablet or smartphone after commissioning with the ParkGard® Control Center, a web-based user interface. It allows you to visualize and evaluate traffic data in real time, or to configure integrated LED displays manually, if necessary, or automatically via the software. If individual devices fail (for example, due to power failure), this fault immediately appears in the software and can be remedied selectively.
