Nashville airport signs contracts for parking and shuttle services

The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority Board of Commissioners has approved a contract for parking services with Nashville-based Central Parking.
Central Parking was given a five-year contract. The company has been providing parking management services at the airport since 2001.

The Board of Commissioners has also approved a contract for shuttle services with First Transit. First Transit's proposal includes buses with a floor that lowers closer to the curb, offering better safety.

As part of that contract, Nashville-based CitiValet, as part of the airport's Small, Minority & Women Business Enterprise Program, will provide two passenger assistance programs. The new contract, which was the result of a bidding process, will become effective February 2008.

Nashville-based InShuttle, also part of the airport's Small, Minority & Women Business Enterprise Program, will provide shuttle services for valet staff of the parking facilities.

"The Airport Authority remains fully committed to providing the maximum opportunities for large and small companies to participate in contracting with the airports," said Raul Regalado, president and CEO of the MNAA. "This contract serves as a tangible result of our ongoing outreach efforts."
