New Aura with 'Help Point'
For the first time Metric will exhibit their recently launched AURA pay & display machine with a new 'Help Point' facility at this year's Traffex show.
The Help Point was originally developed for the Accent machine in 2001 and was first installed by Northampton Borough Council. They gained the maximum benefit from the wireless intercom system, which can be used either for assistance with parking, or as a 'panic alert' in the event of an attack on the street, when they integrated it with their extensive CCTV coverage of the Borough.
The Borough's existing ASLAN network system used for the pay and display equipment was adopted to ensure two-way communications could be achieved, giving the public a comfort factor as they are able to communicate with authorities quickly should they need to.
By incorporating the help point into the Pay and Display machine there is also a reduction in the cost and no need for additional street furniture.
