New Metric man is a former farrier

A man who has been a farrier to royalty is Metric Parkings new salesman in the north of England.
Patrick Beecroft 2-small.jpgPatrick Beecroft has succeeded Richard Boultbee on his promotion as Metrics UK Sales and Marketing Manager and his move from the north to their Head Office in Swindon.

Forty four year old Patrick served a four year farriery apprenticeship and became a member for the Worshipful Company of Farriers. He was the youngest apprentice in his year to pass out at college in 1984.

He since went on to set up his own business and plied his skills all over the world, working for the King of Jordan and Sheik Mohammed, the ruler of Dubai.

His speciality was dressage horses and he was farrier to the Great Britain Junior Dressage Team. He also shod a number of classic race horses and a number of winning show ponies for the Horse of the Year Show.

During his 25 years as a farrier he was also involved with surgical and remedial work for the Newmarket Research Centre, the Bristol Clinic and the Liverpool Equine University which all specialised in horses with feet and conformation problems.

Patrick, whose home is at Mellor Brook, Lancashire, had a period supplying highways safety and winter gritting equipment to the local authority market immediately prior to joining Metric.

He has a 12 year old son, holds his FA coaching qualifications and is also manager of an under 13s football team in the Lancashire District.
