New Road blocker Design a Smash Hit

After intensive research, design and testing, Heald are proud to announce two new additions to their range of Crash Tested roadblockers.
Liaising closely with the British Government, the tests were undertaken at the UKS Transport Research Laboratory (TRL) against Healds new 900mm and 1200mm high raised roadblockers. The first test was conducted against the 900mm blocker using an empty 18 tonner (weighing 7.5 tonnes) travelling at 80 kph (50 mph). The blocker disabled the vehicle upon impact and received minimal damage, remaining fully operational after removal of the front radius plate.
The radius was replaced and a further test was carried out with a standard 7.5 tonne truck at a speed of 80 kph (50 mph). The blocker brought the vehicle to a complete halt with nil penetration and continued normal operation after impact. Another 18 tonner was used, this time against the 1200 mm high blocker. The vehicle was demolished on impact with nil penetration and continued normal operation after removal of the radius plate. All tests were carried out to the impact criteria of the British Standard PAS 68 for fixed bollards (under current revision to include moving barriers) and in energy terms exceed the American Department of State K12 rating (this being 6.8 tonnes @ 80 kph/ 50 mph). The onslaught of the trucks at such a speed were no match for Healds unique anti - terrorist blocker design.
Specially constructed integral impact absorbers and a removable front radius plate are incorporated into the heavy duty construction, these draw most of the impact away from the main body of the blocker helping to disperse the energy within the front face and so alleviate impact damage to the surrounding outer fabrication and concrete foundation. The front radius plate can be quickly and easily replaced whilst the roadblocker is in the raised position, thus maintaining site security at all times.
No reinforcing of concrete is necessary and no pre-casting of the pit is required, enabling fitting to be completed within one day under normal conditions.
