New Service from Imperial Parking Means the End of Parking Violation Notices

Vancouver - Imperial Parking Canada Corporation launched Impark Wireless, an expanded suite of wireless parking solutions. One of the tools, Impark's pay-by-cell program, allows customers to use their cell phones or any other wireless device to pay for parking at metered lots.
impark.jpgCustomers who purchase parking time with Impark Wireless' pay-by-cell function will receive text message reminders on their cell phone or wireless device before their parking time expires. At that point, they can purchase more time if needed, or return to the parking lot to collect their vehicle. Customers pay for only the parking required, and the reminder message gives them every opportunity to avoid receiving a parking violation notice.

Impark initially launched its pay-by-cell program in Vancouver three years ago, and continues to be the only commercial pay parking operator to offer this service.

The new Impark Wireless suite has been expanded beyond cell phone parking to include:

  • An electronic validation program for hotel guests, restaurants, and medical buildings;

  • Online registration and 'virtual' permits for college/university and residential parking;

  • Online reservations for special events at stadiums and arenas; and

  • A parking meter out-of-order reporting system.
"Impark Wireless is an important 'next step' for our technology strategy," says Impark President & C.O.O. Bryan Wallner. "We're continuing to bring solutions to market that make it easier for people to pay for parking and enhance customer service."

"Several of the new tools are also directly aimed at reducing back-office administrative work for our key client segments: Hotels, universities, hospitals, medical buildings, and special event facilities. The old paper-based systems are inefficient, theft prone, and don't provide meaningful reporting. We have eliminated all of those problems and now deliver a significant value-added service to those clients."
