Pango Announces Successful First-Month of Smart Parking in Scranton

Tech-Savvy Scranton Parkers Quickly Adopt Mobile Parking Payment Solution

Pango Mobile Parking, a comprehensive pay by phone payment and parking management system, has seen tremendous success just one month after its implementation in Scranton, PA. Since May 28th, 3,000 Pango parking sessions have been tracked, more than 700 parkers have signed up for the mobile parking payment solution, and 10 merchants have enrolled in the Pango Merchant Program facilitating the technology’s innovative location-based mobile advertising platform. Further illustrating Pango’s effectiveness, Chattanooga, TN, a city of 170,000 residents adopted a similar mobile parking payment model, but only 323 pay-by-phone transactions were documented during the first month of adoption - compared to 3,000 in Scranton

Pango eliminates the headaches associated with city parking by allowing drivers to use their mobile phones to pay for parking at any on-street metered parking space designated with a Pango sticker or equipped with Pango street signs. The Pango smartphone app is available on iOs, BlackBerry, and Android devices and offers the most convenient way to access all Pango features. To use Pango, customers must sign up free of charge on the Pango (www.myPango.com) or by downloading the Pango mobile app or by calling toll free 1-877-myPango (1-877-697-2646I. Scranton parkers, city officials, and downtown merchants have fully embraced Pango and applaud its convenience and simplicity, said Dani Shavit, CEO of Pango Shyyny USA, the Pango licensee in PA, MD and Washington D.C. “These numbers illustrate the ease with which Pango can be seamlessly integrated in any city, large or small.”

Pango Mobile Parking’s success is attributed to its ease of use, convenient payment model, smart marketing campaign and rapid implementation into city infrastructures. The comprehensive reporting and management system allows city officials to monitor parking using iPads and better understand parkers’ habits. The mobile payment solution also caters to the tech-savvy consumer, leveraging the use and dependency of smart phones, but also providing the option to use any cell phone.
